Recently we were employed to carry out a fencing project in one of London’s Royal Parks. The client required a robust timber barrier around an ancient Oak tree in the vicinity of a children’s play area. This mighty Oak was suffering from compacted ground as a result of the constant footfall. The client requested a half-circle layout and we achieved this by installing a British Standard treated timber close boarded fence, with reduced post centres. The 1.8m high fencing includes a single leaf gate for maintenance and lawn-mower access. The fence has proved successful in guiding the park users away from the trees canopy, helping to prolong the life our national tree.
